In the winter of 2022, students wanted something fun and free in the UCen and they were eyeballing a special place in the Hub for a Game Room. After some discussion with the UCen Director, Louis Reynaud, they measured and diagrammed an old storage area adjacent to the Beer Garden and surveyed UCSB students with a QR code. They received an overwhelmingly positive response for a UCen Game Room with the following games: Regulation Pool, Air Hockey, Pin Ball, Video Games, Shuffle Board, and Bumper Pool. Thanks to everyone for all the hard work it took to make this happen.

Note: The game room will be closed or on a flex schedule whenever there are concerts, dances, or other Hub activities.

Versions of billiards originated as lawn games like croquet and golf in 14th/15th century Europe, especially among British nobility. The games migrated indoors in the 1600s using primitive wooden tables, evolving into early forms of pool and carom billiards.
