UCen Dining offers many job opportunities for UC Santa Barbara students. Because we are primarily student-run, we have an in-house job training program that encourage
growth and development. Our pay
rates begin at minimum wage and
can advance upward to over $14.00
per hour, depending on position. Students who show initiative and
are goal oriented are invited to participate in our supervisor training
or management development
programs where we teach and
mentor students by providing them
with teamwork skills. We also
provide our student managers with
skills in budgeting, fiscal responsibility, marketing, merchandising, and
customer service. UCen Dining
practices the S.U.R.F. philosophy for work-Service, Unity, Responsibility,
and Fun! We believe we offer students benefits that cannot be matched elsewhere. Students that work
a minimum of 10 hours a week get
50% off their meals in the UCen
operated facilities. We provide flexible hours and schedule around classes.
For convenience, all of our jobs are
located on campus. We have an
annual building-wide softball
tournament, a summer BBQ, a winter student appreciation party, and other activites where student employees
have the opportunity to make new friends.
